Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group is seeking, on behalf of our corporate client, to identify a commercial attorney with energy experience to work on a part-time, temporary basis for a Houston, TX based client. Hours will start around 15-25 per week and could expand from there.
Overview: Interim Sr. Counsel (Commercial)
Company: Green Energy Technology Company
Experience: 5+ years experience
Location: Hybrid / Houston TX
Responsibilities:
- Advise and support on all commercial contracting for, primarily, a green methanol project in Louisiana.
- Draft commercial contracts and finance documents as needed.
- Review and provide legal advice on commercial contracts.
- Manage and negotiate, together with the commercial teams, all contracts.
- Provide legal support on intellectual property matters as needed.
- Handle together with direct report, external counsel as needed.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Active bar membership in good standing.
- 5-8 years of experience in project finance and commercial contracting, preferably within the energy sector.
- Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents.
- Strong understanding of construction, feedstock and offtake agreements and general commercial contracts.
- Experience with intellectual property law is a plus.
- Energy sector experience, construction projects, energy transactions all a plus.
